This hardened and ground washer is used in a BSA M20 front wheel.
Two are required and are shown as being together on many parts drawings.
A better solution is to have one against the speedo drive.
Then the large thin nut, followed by the other washer.
This will stop the nut damaging the inside of the fork.
Also used as a Thrust washer behind the Mag/Dyno idler pinion.
