Rocker shell set to fit BSA /CCM 4V head derived from the Weslake pushrod speedway engine.
These shells will also replace the Weslake ones. Both the speedway single and the V-twin.
These high grade rocker shell sets are produced as matched pairs.
You will see a small indent on the joint line.
The shells should be fitted in good condition housings.
The shell with oil holes is mounted in the cap. Don't mix shells once they have been fitted.
It is good to mark the shells with a permanent marker or engraver to show the position that they were fitted.
Arrows pointing to the front of the bike will aide subsequent fitting.
The shells have a machining allowance in them and they should be ideally line honed to suit the rocker shaft journals.
It is possible to ream the shells but due to the nature of the material it is unlikely to achieve a good finish.
The better the finish in the shells, the longer their life will be.
A fatal mistake is to restrict the oil feed to the rockers. The rockers themselves will act as the restriction, ensuring that they get adequate oil.
If you are unable to carry out the fitting and finishing procedures, PES is happy to do this work for you at a small cost
